When I joined The Heights Ellis County, I anticipated a meaningful part-time role. I didn't expect it to become a cornerstone of my personal and professional growth.

The Heights is a faith-based nonprofit that unites multiple agencies to support women and children escaping abusive situations. As a childcare provider, I care for children while their mothers attend counseling, therapy, or classes. This role has taught me the profound impact of providing a safe, nurturing environment during times of transition.

One of the most inspiring experiences was attending The Heights' annual luncheon, where the Gabby Petito Foundation shared their story. Their message underscored the importance of community support in healing and prevention.

Additionally, participating in events like taking 40 children to a Texas Rangers game and preparing to serve as a counselor at Camp Hope this August has deepened my commitment to this work. Camp Hope offers a healing-centered environment for children affected by domestic violence, aiming to break the cycle through positive experiences.

These experiences have solidified my passion for serving others and have guided me toward a career focused on impact, empathy, and community engagement.
